The coastal landscapes are stunning with their turquoise water beaches engulfed by rocky cliffs. And the various medieval wall-cities are enchanting. There’s plenty to do and see and les Bretons are some of the friendliest folks you’ll come across in France.

  • SEE A FAMOUS PHOTO FESTIVAL

    This remarkable festival is all summer long and lasts until the end of October. The quaint village hosts an international festival in an outdoor setting. Enormous images take over the town and you can spend the entire day visiting exhibitions from world-famous photographers.

  • DISCOVER THE WILD COAST

    Brittany is famous for its côte sauvage and its stunning turquoise waters. The coast also boasts walking trails along much of the coastline with forts along the way, perfect for a morning or afternoon jaunt. The weather is never certain but it’s always an adventure.

  • CITY VISIT: NANTES

    Towards the exit of the river Loire into the Atlantic, the city has character, history and plenty of cultural activities and art walks. You can see a lot in 1 day or spend more time as there’s tons to do and see.

Sample Itinerary

 

Day 1

Spend your first morning with a walking tour of the underrated city of Nantes which boasts history, art and many natural spaces. After a typical lunch at the famous art deco French brasserie, make your way to the lush countryside a short distance away. Unpack your bags for your first stay in country cottage known for it’s luxurious rooms designed by local artists. There you will dine at their Michelin-star restaurant as you gaze at their collection of exotic birds that roam the garden.

Day 2

Today is a day for art and culture as you travel to the photo festival held in a charming village. As you marvel at the oversized photographs that take over the buildings, you can spend a splendid lunch at a typical Breton crêperie. After viewing the exhibitions, you can make your way to a medieval city. There you can explore the chateau and its lost-in-time grounds, wander through the windy shop-lined streets and stop for a late afternoon tea before heading back to your hotel for dinner.
